Running of the Bulls (Beginner – A2)

Running of the Bulls – Transcript

Hi there. My name is Manuel, and I’d like to tell you about a special event that takes place in my city, Pamplona. It happens every year at the beginning of July. Its real name is the Festival San Fermin, but most people call it the ‘Running of the Bulls‘.
During this festival, 15 bulls are released in the middle of the city. The bulls run down the narrow streets to the stadium, where there are bullfights during each night of the festival. What makes the event so interesting is that people run with the bulls! It is very dangerous, and each year some people are injured.
The festival is a religious event to remember Saint Fermin, who was an important person in the Spanish Catholic Church. During the ‘Running of the Bulls’ people often eat Chistorra, a salty sausage made with pork.
