Welcome to Base English, a friendly, free website for language teachers and learners! Our story began in 2022, when a passionate English language teacher decided to create a space where language learners from around the world could access effective and engaging online lessons. Base English is the result of that vision, offering a comprehensive selection of lessons that cater to various proficiency levels and individual interests.
The site consists of an extensive library of lessons that span six proficiency levels, from novice to advanced learners. Each lesson is thoughtfully crafted and assigned a general difficulty level as well as a CEFR rating (ranging from A1 to C2) to ensure a personalized learning experience. Tasks have been specially designed to help learners improve all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Our online learning environment is a product of the collaborative efforts of experienced educators and has undergone rigorous testing in classrooms across the globe. Not every aspiring language learner is able to access the support they need to become a competent user of English. That’s why we created this website.
