Christmas Desserts (Beginner – A2)

Christmas Desserts – Transcript

Christmas is an important holiday in many parts of the world. It is a time for meeting family and exchanging gifts. But did you know that it is also a time for eating sweets?
There are many special treats that people enjoy making and eating during the Christmas season. One of the most famous Christmas treats is gingerbread cookies. These cookies are made with flour, sugar, and ginger. They are often shaped like Christmas symbols such as bells, angels, or Christmas trees.
Another famous Christmas dessert is fruitcake. Fruitcake is made using dried fruits such as raisins, plums, and pears. The cake is quite heavy, so it is usually cut into small pieces and eaten with a hot drink like coffee or tea. This year, please try one of these delicious Christmas treats.

Christmas - A Time FOr Desserts

Assorted Christmas desserts

Christmas is a happy time for people around the world. It’s not just about decorations and presents. It’s also a time when we love to eat delicious sweets that make the holiday even more special.

Cake that Looks Like a Log: Yule Log Cake

A Yule Log Cake is like a sweet log that sits in the middle of the Christmas table. It’s made of a light cake filled with cream or frosting. We make it by rolling the cake, shaping it like a log, and decorating it with chocolate and other sweet things.

Small Pies with Tasty Filling: Mince Pies

Mince pies are small, sweet pastries filled with a mix of special fruits like raisins and apples. People in Britain really like them during Christmas. To make mince pies, we need to make a sweet crust, fill it with the fruity mix, and then bake it until it’s golden and delicious.

Cookies Shaped like Candy Canes: Candy Cane Cookies

Candy Cane Cookies are cookies that look like the Christmas candy canes. We make them with butter, sugar, and flour, and they taste a bit like peppermint. The fun part is shaping the dough to look like candy canes before baking. These cookies are only eaten during the Christmas season.

Nutty Treat: Pecan Pie

Pecan Pie comes from the southern part of the United States. It’s a sweet pie with a filling made of pecans, sugar, butter, and eggs. The pie crust is flaky, and we bake it until the filling becomes delicious. We usually eat it in slices with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Christmas Hot Chocolate

Warm Chocolate Drink with Marshmallows: Hot Chocolate

Even though it’s not a dessert, hot chocolate with marshmallows is a cozy drink for the winter. We make it by mixing hot milk with cocoa or chocolate. Then, we put small marshmallows on top. The marshmallows melt and make the drink creamy and delicious.

This Christmas, let’s enjoy the sweet smell of these treats and have a wonderful time with family and friends. Each dessert has its own special taste, but all of them remind us of the joy of Christmas.
